Welcome to Vilnius Alternative International Film Festival

The Vilnius Alternative International Film Festival is not just any ordinary festival. Established in 2022, it has quickly become a prominent platform for showcasing the best works of the film industry from the Baltic Sea Region, Nordic countries, and beyond. The festival is dedicated to presenting alternative cinema and enriching the cultural landscape of northern Europe.

With a unique blend of contemporary and classic cinema, the festival features assertive debut works and festival hits. It also has an industry section that provides a valuable platform for film professionals from around the world to discuss the latest trends and establish sustainable collaborations.

The festival structure consists of a big annual event held over two days and a series of qualifying stages held throughout the year. During the qualifying rounds, judges select top entries based on criteria such as originality, creativity, and emotional impact. The festival attracts a large audience of film enthusiasts, industry professionals, and media representatives from around the world.

The festival culminates with an awards ceremony honoring the best entries across categories such as Best Feature Film and Best Short Film. The event provides sample networking opportunities, and attendees have the opportunity to watch the selected films, attend seminars and panel discussions, and meet with the filmmakers.
